Cybersecurity Operations Engineer
We are looking for a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to support the day-to-day protection of enterprise IT environments. The role covers security monitoring, incident handling, vulnerability management, access controls and infrastructure security within a managed services environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security events and investigate unusual activities across enterprise systems, endpoints, networks and cloud environments.
- Support the investigation and resolution of security incidents, including escalation, containment, recovery and follow-up actions.
- Perform vulnerability reviews and work with technical teams to prioritise and address identified security weaknesses.
- Administer identity, access and privileged-access controls in accordance with least-privilege principles.
- Support endpoint, network and infrastructure security controls including security monitoring, endpoint protection, firewalls and secure remote access.
- Maintain system security standards, hardening controls and other operational security configurations across the environment.
- Support security reviews, audits, compliance activities and the preparation of relevant operational documentation.
- Participate in an after-hours support rotation for critical security incidents and work closely with infrastructure and operations teams during escalations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, security operations, infrastructure support or system administration.
- Practical exposure to areas such as security monitoring, vulnerability management, access controls, endpoint security or infrastructure security.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent, with good troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Information
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, excluding Public Holidays.
- The role includes participation in an after-hours support rotation for critical incidents.
