What is a job scam?
Job scams involve individuals falsely impersonating Tyson Jay, our consultants, or our brand identity to promote fake job opportunities, with the intention of obtaining money or sensitive personal information from unsuspecting candidates.
We are aware that scammers are misusing our company name, logo, and consultant identities, or unofficial communication channels to conduct fraudulent recruitment activities. These individuals are not affiliated with Tyson Jay in any way. Always verify any offer directly with our office before responding, sharing personal information, or taking any action.

Our official channels
These are the channels Tyson Jay uses to communicate with candidates. If you are ever unsure, please verify the information through our official website or contact us directly.
- Official Website: http://www.tysonjay.sg
- All official emails, offer letters, and documents will only be sent from an @tysonjay.sg email address
- We may also communicate with candidates through WhatsApp for recruitment-related matters such as interview coordination and job updates
- Our representatives will identify themselves professionally and will never request payment, banking credentials, Singpass details, or OTPs through WhatsApp
- We only post job opportunities on our official website, official LinkedIn and Facebook pages, and licensed job portals such as JobStreet and MyCareersFuture
- Any links shared by our representatives will direct you to official Tyson Jay domains or recognised job platforms
- If in doubt, we strongly encourage you to verify the communication through our official website or contact us directly before taking any action
Identification
Red flags to watch for

Money is requested
You were asked to make payment for job applications, training, medical checks, work passes, or interview arrangements.

No verifiable company presence
The "consultant" cannot be verified through our website, LinkedIn company page, or by contacting our office directly.

Offer too good to be true
Unusually high pay for vague roles requiring little or no experience. Scammers use attractive offers to lower your guard.

Vague job description
The role, responsibilities, company information, or salary are unclear, inconsistent, or change when you ask questions.

Non-official email domain
Formal correspondence from us will always come from @tysonjay.sg — never Gmail, Yahoo, or a lookalike domains.

Job posted in unofficial channels
Found in random Telegram groups, unofficial social media accounts, or unverified messaging channels instead of recognised job platforms or our official website.

Requests for personal data
You were asked to provide NRIC details, passport copies, bank details, Singpass credentials, or OTPs before any formal interview or employment process.

Steps to protect yourself
If you receive a suspicious message or believe you have been targeted, take these steps immediately.

Stop all communication
Do not respond further, transfer any money, or share any documents. Block the contact on all platforms they used to reach you.

Verify directly with our office
Email us using contact details from our official website only — not details provided by the suspected scammer.

Check the consultant on MOM's registry
Every licensed recruiter in Singapore is listed on the Ministry of Manpower website. Search their name or EA number at mom.gov.sg to verify they are legitimate.

Do not transfer money under any circumstances
If payment has already been made, contact your bank immediately to freeze or reverse the transaction. Keep all receipts as evidence for your police report.

Secure your personal accounts
If you shared credentials or personal data, change your passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and alert your bank if financial details were disclosed.

Report the scam
File an official report with the Singapore Police Force.

Evidence to gather
Collect as much of the following before filing your report:
- Scammer’s name, number, or messaging handle
- Screenshots of the fraudulent job ad or messages
- Your full chat history with the scammer
- Any fake business cards or email threads received
- Bank account details you were asked to pay
- Payment receipts if money was transferred
Report to the local authorities
File an official report at any neighbourhood police post or online via the SPF website. By reporting, you help track patterns and protect others.
